It’s important to know the times of buses

• I HAVE been reading the correspondence about the dismantling of bus time indicators reported by other contributors, (Why is TfL taking away our digital bus info displays?, September 5).
Ever since Metroline took over the No 268 service there has been a distinct fall in its timing and reliability, although I find their drivers quite charming and helpful.
As a mobility impaired person, without a smartphone, I need to know the timings of buses. This is especially true since the number of seated shelters has been drastically reduced and replaced with “leaning” shelters.
I strongly object to the unreliability when one texts the number given on bus stops. I have repeatedly texted, receiving a message telling me that the next bus is 20 to 30 minutes away, only for it to sail past when I have attempted to make my way between stops.
To take money for misleading, inaccurate information is infuriating. I do wish that bus time indicators were more widely available. If a member of Transport for London is reading this please pass the message on.
