It’s good to see a joined-up approach on moped crime

• I HAVE been very frightened at the surge in moped crime in our area.
It is very troubling, so I was keen to attend Tulip Siddiq’s drop-in session in Swiss Cottage last week.
Solving violent crime is something we can all play a part in and I was pleased that Tulip’s event was conducted on a one-to-one basis in which residents could directly take their case and their concerns to the police. There were no speeches at all and it was completely non-political.
With representatives from both Brent and Camden police in attendance, the event provided the opportunity to ask what exactly the police are doing to deal with this horrifying trend in violence, and for the police to explain to us whether they had seen any success in dealing with it.
Unfortunately it may be some time, they said, until these crimes are dealt with once and for all, but I am glad to see the joined-up approach between our local MP and police forces.
