• IN your report, Roger Evans is quoted as complaining that Camden swimmers are deprived of swimming owing to the indoor pool being closed at the Oasis, (We want a swim! June 22).

He also complains about the Camden & Greenwich Leisure Ltd partnership which operates the Oasis.

There are several excellent Camden-GLL-run indoor swimming pools in Camden in Swiss Cottage, Kentish Town, and King’s Cross, not to mention the beautiful open air pool at the Oasis.

Our Camden-GLL pools are much appreciated beyond the borough, people use them from all parts of London and beyond.

We are struggling with astronomical energy prices; surely Camden & GLL deserve our thanks for persevering with high-cost swimming facilities in spite of the enormous economic pressure.
