It wasn’t to be for the Liberal Democrats in West Hampstead

Friday, 13th May

• I’D like to thank all the residents of West Hampstead who voted for David Elkan, Elizabeth Pearson and me.

When the votes were counted I was disappointed to be only 38 votes behind, but on a night when Labour were winning in Wandsworth and Westminster, it wasn’t to be for the Liberal Democrats in West Hampstead.

I’d like to wish councillors Sharon Hardwick, Nazma Rahman and Shiva Tiwari all the best representing our area.

There are big issues to deal with over the coming four years, including the O2 Centre site redevelopment, and many pledges made during the campaign on clean streets, opportunities for young people, and community safety.

We’re really hoping you’ll deliver.
