It is not enough to condemn, we must take action on anti-Semitism

• LAST Monday I attended the Enough is Enough protest at Parliament Square in solidarity with the Jewish community.
The Labour Party was formed to fight oppression and injustice so to see members of a British minority taking to the streets to say the Labour Party had let them down was painful. But not as painful as it is for the Jewish Labour supporters who feel that their political home is no longer a safe space.
I want people in Camden to know that we will not shy away from this issue. We will not dismiss the fears of our Jewish community, we will stand with them.
I am a Jewish woman leading a diverse group of candidates in the May elections and we are united in our condemnation of anti-Semitism.
Last year Camden Labour led the way in unanimously passing a motion at Camden Council adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism to send a clear message that it has no place in our community.
But it is not enough to condemn, we must take action. Alongside our two local MPs I will be meeting Jewish leaders in Camden to discuss what more we can do together to take on anti-Semitism.
I welcome Jeremy Corbyn’s strong stance on this issue over the last few days. We need to make sure this is followed through. We are clear that those who dismiss anti-Semitism do not speak for our party and have no place in the Labour Party.
We call on all who care about fighting racism to show the same respect to the Jewish community as you would to any other minority group and listen to the diversity of Jewish experience.
