‘It feels like half a lifetime that these wretches have been in power, yet I can’t think of one constructive achievement’

• IT’S sobering when you consider all the money, resources, privilege, entitlement, snobbery and supposedly “elite” education it took to manufacture this shower currently “governing” us.

It feels like half a lifetime that these wretches have been in power, yet I can’t think of one constructive achievement.

The highest rate of child poverty in Europe, exponential growth of food banks, Brexit, the coming tsunami of local authority bankruptcies, unheard of levels of homelessness, all in one of the world’s richest countries?

But look on the bright side: these are achievements of sorts, if you’ve nothing but contempt for those you consider beneath you.
