PEDRO Martinez Losa says reaching the Continental Cup final is a big reward for Arsenal Ladies following the club’s endless “investment in women’s football”.

The Gunner Girls booked a final date against Notts County by beating Birmingham City 3-1 in Sunday’s semi-final at Meadow Park. They went ahead in the 13th minute when Marta Corredera fired into the top corner from outside the box.

Danielle Carter doubled their advantage a minute later, before Alex Scott put the result beyond doubt in the 47th minute.

The result earns Arsenal their fifth successive Continental Cup final, a feat Losa says speaks volumes for the team’s efforts over the season. “It says what kind of club we are,” he told Arsenal.com. “It says we are a club that has been investing in women’s football. The club has invested the most in women’s football in history. Arsenal has been investing year after year in promoting women’s football and giving young players and senior players the opportunity to play and be professional.

“I think this is a reward the team deserves, especially the players for their efforts they have put in all season.”
