STAFF and pupils at a private school in Hampstead have been handed a top-rated inspection report.

The King Alfred School in North End Road scored the highest possible marks from the Independent Schools Inspectorate – a government-approved body monitored by Ofsted.

Highlights of the report included comments about how pupils embraced school life. The inspectors found that they set themselves challenging targets and persevere until they are successful and were inspired and challenged in their learning by the passion teachers have for their subjects.

Headteacher Robert Lobatto said: “The inspectors found KAS to be a unique and special place. Exceptionally, they determined that we deliver on academic excellence while nurturing confident, balanced, and compassionate young people, all within a culture-based on freedom and mutual respect.”
