THE next generation of coaches and sports leaders proved that the future of the borough’s sporting stars are in safe hands as they delivered “an action-packed” programme at the Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town.

More than 70 youngsters, including primary school children from Eleanor Palmer, Primrose Hill and Kentish Town, showcased their skills as they enjoyed the chance to take part in a whole host of fun competitions, including curling, the long jump, the speed bounce, the vertical jump and the javelin.

The “inclusive sports day” was organised and hosted by a team of National Vocational Qualification students, who have been mastering their trade as part of the Camden Council sports and education programme.

NVQ co-ordinator Lee Davis said: “All the students delivering the sports day were fantastic, showing leadership qualities to a very high standard.

“All the young people attending were involved and active throughout what was an action-packed day.”
