In the pandemic leaf-blowers are more than a noise danger
Thursday, 14th January 2021
• AS we have been advised to stay at home at this time, some of us now have no way to avoid the deafeningly high decibel noise produced by petrol leaf-blowers.
Excessively loud noise in community facilities is deemed a health risk by the government. Such noise causes people to shout – thereby spreading coronavirus Covid-19 droplets as they try to make themselves heard.
Some people appear to agree that the government’s own advice should equally apply to leaf-blowers in shared gardens, at blocks of flats or on estates during the lockdown.
