In praise of a party colleague

• HAMPSTEAD & Kilburn Liberal Democrats have chosen an outstanding Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in Matt Sanders.
I worked closely with Matt throughout his time as a Camden councillor, first during the period when the Liberal Democrats led the council and subsequently when we formed the opposition.
During this time I never failed to be impressed by Matt’s enormous drive and capacity for hard work, his impressive intellect and his determination to make life better for the Camden residents he represented.
As chair of Camden’s environment scrutiny committee, Matt checked that every council policy was contributing to sustainability and the fight against climate change.
Matt also played a major role in protecting green spaces, supporting a new secondary school and finding a new home for Frank Barnes school for the deaf. He was a champion for my community who always stood up to the council and put his constituents first.
Today Matt is more passionate than ever about climate change, housing (as a former campaigner for Shelter) and education.
He firmly backs the Liberal Democrats’ policy of halting Brexit by revoking Article 50 so we can focus on tackling the climate emergency; and securing the investment desperately needed in our public services. Hampstead and Kilburn could not wish for a stronger and more energetic representative.
