Impressive show by the juniors

JUNIORS from Highgate Harriers put on an impressive show on Saturday when they took part in the North West London Young Athletics League at Mad Bess Woods in Ruislip.

Among the top runners was Dorothy Brock (pictured above, right) who won the Under-11s 1200m cross-country, finishing just ahead of club-mate Ellie Gilmore (above left).

Their combined efforts helped Highgate win the Under-11s girls’ event overall with 12 points, finishing just ahead of Harrow.

In the girls’ Under-13s category Cecily Turner showed great potential as she finished second in the cross-country.

In the Under-15s race, which was run over 3000m, Marjolaine Briscoe put in a strong run to finish sixth, while Eva Bell also did well with a 17th place finish.

There were top cheers for the boys’ Under-11s team as they raced to glory in their event with 33 points.

Held over 2000m, Finlay Doyle finished fourth, Oran Gallagher was eighth and Felix Bright 10th.
