I’m happy the old water pipes in the area are being replaced
Thursday, 8th July 2021
• IT has been a bit disruptive and noisy as many of us have been working from home, but I for one am very happy that ancient mains water pipes are now being replaced by Thames Water in Fortune Green and West Hampstead wards. This is surely better than patching them up again and again.
The Liberal Democrats, however, make even more noise about the roadworks than the roadworks themselves. Given the history of flooding and leaking over the past few decades I thought they would welcome these old pipes being replaced.
I know it’s been a pain for car owners having to park elsewhere, and there have been some local traffic jams, but it’s going to mean a better mains water supply in the future.
We all want to live in a greener environment and, given the reliance we have on our water supply, this is ultimately win-win.
So I do not quite understand why the Liberal Democrats are complaining… Unless, of course, it’s simply to fill their by-election leaflets with grumpiness and negativity. How does that help anyone?
