If you want to get in contact with the council…

• I HAVE not been able to get through to Camden Council repairs for the past two weeks to report two different issues.

When you ring it’s not only a long, automated, message it’s also press 1 for this, 2 for that, 3 for something else, it takes ages… and when you do eventually get through to the department you need, it’s another message saying that all staff are busy answering calls or that if you need to report a repair you can do it online.

After being kept on hold for 40 minutes I ended up putting the phone down. I tried again at different times on different days, same thing.

I decided to log into my Camden account online, to report the repair, clicking on the picture icon for heating and hot water only to get a message pop up on screen: “Repairs of this type are not available online, but will be soon, please report this direct to contact Camden.”

Then I clicked on the roofs and gutters icon and once again another message comes up: “You need to call us as it may be potentially hazardous or pose a security risk.”

What is the point of having online repairs if you cannot request certain repairs online and when you try to ring it’s virtually impossible to get through? Camden Council’s “Right first time” repairs? That has got to be the joke of the century.
