If they can’t do the job properly they shouldn’t do it at all

• VEOLIA just emptied our rubbish and recycling bins but, for the second time in a month, left one of our two food waste caddies. It is full.

I reported the missed collection the last time this happened, but it was not taken until the following Wednesday, the normal collection day.

When I phoned Veolia this time, I was told to ring back after noon because the call centre can’t contact the work crews until they are done with their rounds.

When I asked if they could not log the call for relaying on later in the day, as I was going out, the call centre employee said she had too many calls and couldn’t possibly log them all.

Veolia are not fit for purpose. If they can’t hire enough staff to do the job properly, they shouldn’t be doing it at all.
