If the scratch cards go how will people cope?

Thursday, 8th February 2024

• WE read with disbelief Suzanne Lawrence’s February 1 letter (Scratch cards are the best way), that those who are unable to use the online system to request a visitor parking permit are still being told scratch cards will be discontinued and they should phone for a permit.

Are we to be taken as fools? This statement implies there will, at every moment during working hours, be a dedicated phone number where queries will be dealt with instantly. This would be quite unlike any such line within the Camden network.

And a visitor’s permit for a carer or a plumber is truly needed instantly, as there is a parking office at the end of our road and wardens pass by every few minutes.

We ask in all seriousness how actual people such as us, elderly and/or disabled, are supposed to deal with visitors if the easy-to-use scratch cards are abandoned?
