• IN response to Giles Wright’s letter (Momentum are forgetting their own part in Labour’s defeat, January 30), I would point out that although Sir Keir Starmer is your MP the election of the leader of the Labour Party is a national vote of members, unions and MPs.

Katharine Bligh (Why wasn’t there an all-women shortlist for the Labour leadership? January 23), is right that Sir Keir bears a huge amount of responsibility for Labour’s crushing defeat in December’s general election.

A life-long socialist and Labour voter (even for the right-winger Tony Blair), I will be voting Green at future elections if Sir Keir is elected leader.
