• I WAS recently shown a letter you published by Paul and Sarah Edwards who I have never met or spoken to re the Co-op in Belsize Lane, (A Co-op would endanger the well-being of children who frequent Belsize Village, September 6).

I was somewhat surprised to see myself being quoted because they have mis-stated what I said; the Co-op never gave an undertaking not to try again.

I presumed because they told me many months ago they were abandoning the process they wouldn’t try again, but they certainly didn’t give me an undertaking.
