I was impressed by the management of the vaccination centre

Thursday, 28th January 2021

• I ATTENDED for an appointment at the RFH Rec Club last Friday, there were about eight people in front of me in queue.

All were wearing masks and socially distancing and markings showing the distance that should be maintained were on the pavement and pathway to the centre.

There was a person monitoring the queue and answering questions. Before entering the centre hand gel was given to all.

Check-in was very straightforward and all were given a simple form, with pen to complete.

We were then directed to the main sports hall where the injections were given. We were asked to wait while seats were wiped down and then escorted to a seat.

After a short wait I was seen by the person giving the injection, asked some relevant questions, and then given the injection.

I was also provided with some information concerning the vaccine and what to expect after having had it.

I was then shown to a seat to wait for the 15 minutes, which is the standard after an injection. There were ample staff and volunteers on hand to answer questions and escort people through the various areas.

Social distancing was being observed, seats and other surfaces were regularly cleaned. A one-way-in one-way-out system was in operation.

Overall I was I was impressed with how well the centre was being managed on the day of my attendance. I offer my thanks to all those involved at the centre.
