I was appalled you published the mud-slinging views of a Conservative teacher

Calvin Robinson
• I WAS appalled you printed the snide, self-righteous, and mud-slinging article by Calvin Robinson about so-called poor standards in Camden secondary schools (Borough’s secondaries are lagging behind, August 17).
Not only is he, by inference, back-stabbing his own colleagues, but also criticising one of the most highly respected local education authorities unequivocally supported enthusiastically by teachers and parents.
The fact he is standing as a Conservative (most unusual for a teacher anyway) explains his stance in supporting the hated academy status opposed not just by the council but by most head teachers, governors and parents.
I was glad to see the robust response from both council leader Georgia Gould (We will protect our family of schools, August 24) and education cabinet member Angela Mason (Borough’s pass rate at A-level is comfortably above the national average this year, August 24).
