Lissenden festival letter

‘I Love Lissenden’ and the Farrans stage

• THANK you for your generous coverage of the Lissenden community festival but we think you actually missed out on a piece of good news.

The “I Love Lissenden” festival didn’t centre on a stage on the estate’s tennis court, but on a massive street stage sponsored by Farrans, the construction company that is building a new wing at Parliament Hill School.

Due to Farrans’s community spirit we were able to feature the talents of local choirs, singer songwriter Marina Avetisian, and bands including Sauvage, from Newcastle, local legends The Sandersons and London Blues barnstormers Honey B Mama and Friends.

It’s not often that the New Journal praises companies for putting something back into the community – but in this case we feel that Farrans deserves lots of credit.
