Royal Free Hospital

• MUCH is reported about the National Health Service being broken and not fit for purpose.

The past few weeks I have had the most amazing five-star treatment, despite it being the holiday period.

I had three issues, concerning heart and mobility, but having just been released from oncology check-ups, I felt no urgency.

However my general practitioner arranged for blood tests and a cardiogram and heart echo graph. And I now have an appointment coming up with the heart clinic.

The GP has me listed for Camden’s physiotherapy appointments, but also saw me in person regarding the mobility issue, and within an hour I had an x-ray.

Every person I met was cheerful, kind, and, despite being busy, took time to be solicitous and informative.

I have enjoyed both prompt and clear face-to-face and telephone appointments from my GP practice and I have had no waiting at the various clinics – five in total – at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.

I am astonished and extremely grateful to everyone. Far from thinking this service is broken I have found it streamlined and super efficient.
