I found the latest Camden Magazine curious
Thursday, 9th January
• I READ the latest edition of the Camden Magazine. Curious. No mention of councillors.
Perhaps officers could have provided information of how to contact them so residents could try to get the services they pay for but are not delivered.
We did not even get a happy Chriminuka messages from the council leader.
The section on avoiding loneliness made no reference to the fact that Camden is rated the loneliest in the country.
The section on support for council tenants forgot to mention the damning ombudsman’s report on the treatment of the repair service complaints section which included discrimination against vulnerable people.
Completely absent is help, or rather the opposite, for our many homeless and reference to the horrific incident of destroying the tents and possessions of some 10 people. This harassment of the tent dwellers continues.
Obviously, officers now control the information meted out to residents and our elected representatives don’t get even a look in.
It would have been nice to have had – even if they didn’t mean it – a festive greeting.
Perhaps the relevant cabinet member could explain why councillors no longer contribute to this fake news publication and what, if any, control they have over content.
