I fear cancers have resulted from the erection of phone masts
Thursday, 16th May 2019
• MANY years ago I had read about radiation that mobile phone masts can emit. I live in a block of flats in WC1. A number of years ago one mast was erected on the roof of the adjacent Telecom building, followed in time by seven masts.
Over the years 13 persons out of the 24 flats nearest to the masts have developed cancer, including myself. Some have died, some still living with their cancer.
I wrote to Councillor John Simpson in 2014 of my concerns. He got onto the environmental officer and planners department, on my behalf.
After some while I received pages of literature more or less saying, “no risk”. But I was unconvinced and am still concerned, as are other tenants. And now more masts.
