• I WHOLEHEARTEDLY approve of the plans to have fortnightly collections of non-recyclables and I am glad that we can keep weekly recycling collections.

I just wanted to write in praise of the new plan as I have seen grumbling in the New Journal about it from people who, in my view, ought to think harder.

As long as food waste can be collected weekly, what is the problem?

I only seem to have a small bag of cellophane and rubber bands that aren’t recyclable, each week.
And that can wait for a fortnight. I look forward to textile recycling in marked bags and the other bags proposed.
