I am your Labour candidate for Fortune Green
Thursday, 15th July 2021
• AS the great Michelle Obama says: “when they go low, we go high”.
I am so proud of the positive campaign we have run in the Fortune Green by-election.
I have spoken to hundreds of residents on the doorstep, listening and responding to their views, concerns, and ideas on how to improve our local area.
If I haven’t managed to connect with you please do email me – lorna.g.fortunegreen@gmail.com.
I have heard repeatedly from local residents that we still need to do more for women to feel safe and secure on our streets.
That’s why I have organised a women’s safety walkabout with the cabinet member for safer communities, Nadia Shah, next Monday July 19.
Please get in touch with me via email if you would like to join us.
Taking this kind of practical, positive, action is exactly how I promise to continue if elected as your councillor.
I want to promote greening in the area and initiatives to reduce air pollution.
I have heard from many fellow cyclists that safer cycle routes in the area are needed in addition to more secure bike hangars.
As a private renter, I am acutely aware of the need for more affordable and social housing.
Having spoken with both private renters and landlords, it’s clear we must support and protect people at risk of eviction while also supporting them to get back into work.
There are so many brilliant Camden Council initiatives we can tap into as a community and I am passionate about bringing Fortune Green residents together as we recover from Covid, together.
The Tories have been actively campaigning to win Fortune Green – they, like I, have spotted they came second in the GLA and mayoral election in May.
And further, they are the main opposition to Labour on Camden Council.
Your vote for Labour really does matter. In this traditionally tight ward every vote counts. I am focused and dedicated to making Fortune Green a fairer, safer and greener place to live and work in.
From tackling the housing crisis, to protecting local services to promoting a greener neighbourhood.
Vote for me, Lorna Greenwood and the Labour Party on July 22. Positivity rules.
LORNA GREENWOOD
Labour Candidate for Fortune Green
