I am appalled at the stupidity of siting a cycle lane here

• BEHIND Camden Road station in Royal College Street there is a bus stop for the 46 route via Kentish Town.

It has been there for many years. Between it and the road, a cycle lane has been laid.

To hail the bus a traveller has to cross this cycle lane, an extremely dangerous thing to do.

Cyclists speed along and shout: “get off!” So will the bus if the driver can’t see the hapless traveller.

As a former cyclist for more than 40 years I am appalled at the rudeness of the cyclists and also the stupidity of siting a cycle lane there.

Camden High Street looks like army tanks have mounted the pavements as very many are cracked or wobbly. Extreme caution is advised to avoid a nasty fall.

Not only the elderly are affected.

The government have reduced their grant to local authorities so the council has to cut back on maintenance.

What was it the leather-trousered premier said? Something about improving our living standards?

Strange way of doing that, methinks.
