YOUNGSTERS from Highbury Wolves were howling with delight on Saturday when they won the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League Development Cup at Market Road – the first trophy the club has won since forming two years ago.

The Under-8s squad of Nathan Devoucoux, Eddie Wright, Francisco Armstrong, Joseph Wright, John-Joe Fields, Charlie Keeler-Smith and Youcef Boudkhila took the competition by storm as they won five of their six group matches – only losing to Isledon Wolves on their way to the final.

As fate would have it, the Highbury heroes faced Isledon again in a winner-Wolves-takes-all final.

Despite trailing 1-0 at the break, the Islington-side bounced back to be crowned cup kings as they won 2-1 thanks to goals from Boudkhila and Eddie Wright.

Highbury Wolves train at Barnard Park on Wednesdays between 4.30pm and 6.30pm and Saturday and Sunday between 10am and noon.
