How dare Harry Enfield disrespect Mary Portas?

Harry Enfield and Stephen Mangan, who appeared together at Cecil Sharp House in Primrose Hill
• I AM truly confused about Mr Harry Enfield’s interest in the Primrose Hill area.
I am delighted to hear that the funds to buy a 25-year lease from Camden Council for the Primrose Hill Community Centre have been successfully raised, (Enfield: How loadsamoney has changed Hampstead, January 17).
The people who have worked towards this goal and have achieved it should be massively appreciated because their actions and kindness will be of huge benefit to people here now and also, more importantly, for future generations.
But I do have an issue with the intervention of Mr Enfield who took part in a fundraiser at Cecil Sharp House last week. I haven’t lost my sense of humour quite yet but I am losing patience with hypocrites.
The truth of the matter is that Mr Enfield added to his property portfolio what used to be a thriving public house at No 1 Edis Street in Primrose Hill and after much ado made his case for shutting it down and turning it into a seldom occupied residence. Yet another corner of our area devoid of energy and community.
By contrast, I am in no doubt whatsoever that Mary Portas, who in my opinion was not treated respectfully by Mr Enfield in his comments (pretending not to know her name), has proved herself to be absolutely committed to making lives better in Primrose Hill and beyond. A truly good neighbour.
