• THE Israel-bashing letter you published (A letter from Abu Dis, November 17) omits the context, and fairness should allow a reply.

Israel robustly protects its people and borders against Palestinian terrorists from all points of the compass, who surround them, even coming from the sea, and have done so for 100 years.

Jews lived in Israel from the 2nd millennium BCE – over 4,000 years, ago but the imperialist, settler, colonialist Arab invasion of the 7th century CE stole the land, occupied the state of Israel, ethnically cleansed most Jews, and settled and colonised the Jewish homeland and even changed our Hebrew place names to Arabic ones.
