THEY are the biggest bunnies ever seen – standing well over 8ft tall, these carrot-crunchers would make quick work of Farmer McGregor’s vegetable patch.

And now readers of the New Journal can meet the ground-thumping veggie-bed hoppers this weekend, as part of Camden Lock markets’ Easter celebrations.

Over the weekend, a host of free events are on offer, including the chance to hang out with bunnies whose ears touch the sky.

Organised by market owners LabTech, the event includes everything you need to have a cracking Easter.

An Easter garden has been installed this weekend, featuring giant spring flowers and oversized deckchairs to hang out in: activities include spring flower workshops.

Organiser Nicky Ezer said: “We’re inviting all of Camden to come down and celebrate the warmer days ahead. Our Easter flower-planting workshops gives you the opportunity to plant a spring bulb in a pot you can decorate – all for free.”

Other highlights include egg painting and Easter bonnet making.

And alongside giant bunnies hopping about, come and meet Cheryl and Cyril Squirrel – two mischief-causing redheads.

Ms Ezer added: “Come and see Cheryl reveal what squirrels really keep in their handbags, discuss her family tree and share pictures from the family album.

“Meanwhile, Cyril is trying hard to grow a moustache and also trying even harder to avoid Cheryl. These comedic squirrels are furry, interactive, musical, and very lively. They have a great line in chitter-chatter and bring lots of fun to Camden Market.”

And adding an aristocratic touch, Lord and Lady Bloom, who give fresh meaning to the term “landed gentry”, will be on hand to help visitors embarking on the Hawley Wharf Easter hunt.

There are eight clues to hunt down and solve dotted around the canalside market – and those who complete the task will earn themselves a free bun from the critically acclaimed bakery, Buns from Home, on Hawley Wharf.

And throughout the weekend, DJ Cheeky Meeky will be leading the fun in the Market Square garden with music and games.

. Family Event Days are: Saturday, April 19 (1pm-5.30pm); Sunday, April 20 (1pm-5.30pm).
