London Futsal Stars won the Under-8s age group in the Half-Term Cup
THERE were goals and glory at Coram’s Fields on Saturday as two top youth football clubs added fresh silverware to their trophy cabinets.
Scores of teams including Active FC, Queen’s Park, Panitas, FC Marylebone, London Thames, MGA Lions, Vale FC and Universal FC took to the pitches in Bloomsbury bidding to get their hands on the Camden Youth League’s Half-Term Cup.
But following a series of thrilling matches only two teams were left standing: London Futsal Stars and City of London FC.
After the news broke that his young squad had won the Under-8s age group, London Futsal Stars founder Shaz Anwar, who lives in Highbury, said: “The team really is progressing nicely with their football and the players are forming some great friendships.

City of London FC were crowned cup winners in the Under-10s final
“I want to thank the organisers for hosting a really enjoyable and well-run half-term tournament. It was a fun and fair event for local clubs.”
Meanwhile, City of London remained unbeaten throughout the day, conceding just one goal, as they powered their way to Under-10s glory. The players capped an unforgettable afternoon by winning the final on penalties.
The Half-Term Cup competitions were organised by London Grassroots Sports, who also run the Camden Youth League at Coram’s Fields every Saturday.
The tournaments were supported in the way of £2,000 from the “We Make Camden Kit” initiative – a partnership between Camden Citizens, Camden Council, Camden Giving and Camden businesses that aims to fund and support “great ideas that will make Camden a better place”.
Further cup dates have been planned for the Easter school holidays and May.
