HIGHGATE Harriers kept up their winning ways on Saturday when they won at the Victoria Park five-mile road race.

Club members have enjoyed unprecedented success so far this year, including capturing five trophies in the Metropolitan Cross-Country League, widely regarded to be the toughest league in the country.

At the weekend the Harriers were just as convincing on the road as they finished the meet top of the team standings.

Shaun Dixon led the club’s contingent home as he finished fourth with a time of 24mins, 39secs. Jon Laybourn clocked a time of 26:22 to take ninth place, finishing 25 seconds ahead of club-mate Henry Dodwell who was 14th. International runner Adam Hickey from Southend AC won the event for the second year in a row in 23:39.
