HIGHGATE Harrier John O’Shea was in sparkling form on Sunday as he won the West Ham Park 5k Winter Series.
Competing in the 41-50 age category, the veteran runner was only six seconds off his course record as he crossed the finishing line in 17 minutes, 46 seconds.
The win could prove vital with O’Shea (pictured) currently leading the competition with one week to go in the Winter Series.
Meanwhile club-mate Danny Russell was out running a fast half-marathon in Bath on Sunday.
The Australian distance runner clocked a time of 69:14, which makes him one of the fastest runners in the club over the distance.
Overall Russell placed 16th out of a field of more than 2,000 runners.
