SCORES of talented young footballers from across Camden and Islington will take to the pitch tomorrow (Friday) vying to win one of the capital’s largest annual five-a-side youth tournaments.
A team of young volunteers have spent countless hours putting together the final details of the Camden Unity Cup festival, which is set to bring Coram’s Fields to a standstill.
More than 450 youngsters aged 10 to 16 are expected to join in the five-hour extravaganza of football, live music, food, freestyle competitions and even boxing to help organisers from Fitzrovia Youth in Action mark the competition’s 15th birthday.
“We have already signed up all the football teams we need, but if there are any young performers or entertainers that still want to join in the fun we’d love to hear from them,” said co-ordinator Will Cave.
“With the seconds counting down ahead of the big kick-off everyone is getting really excited.
“It’s going to be a tremendous celebration.”
Anyone interested in performing on stage should contact Will on 020 7388 7399 or email will.cave@fya.org.uk for details.
