CLUB president Henry Dodwell praised “the tremendous and special team spirit” flowing through the Highgate Harriers following one of the most successful meets in their 135-year history.

Everyone connected to the volunteer-based athletics club was celebrating on Saturday after winning five trophies in the ATW Metropolitan Cross-Country League.

Henry, who lives in Islington, more than played his part as he tackled the muddy conditions in the senior men’s race at Wormwood Scrubs.

“This season has been an unprecedented success, achieved through a collective effort by athletes, team managers, and club officials, all volunteers, giving their time and effort to a sport they love,” said the 38-year-old, who also captains the men’s senior team. “More than just the trophies, this success has provided the team spirit and momentum which has served the club so well in many other positive ways.”
