• MANY people are mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Her 70 years spanned remarkable progress and some setbacks.
Media coverage has shown how the Queen oversaw the transition of the British Empire into the British Commonwealth, and the Queen was acclaimed for her love and devotion to the Commonwealth and its peoples.
One of the Queen’s countries is Pakistan, now facing devastating consequences of climate change. And climate change is largely brought about by we who live in the wealthy west.
One-third of the country, the size of the UK, is under water. Children have died, hunger and disease are rampant and people are homeless.
The Queen’s personal wealth, now passed to King Charles, I believe, is in the region of £400m. I have set up a petition to ask that a significant amount of this personal wealth be donated to Pakistan and the relief work being carried out there.
Please give your signature to the petition, see the link below. Financial help to Pakistan in its hour of great need would be a truly lovely and lasting legacy of our Queen.
