CAMDEN & ISLINGTON MIDWEEK YOUTH LEAGUE with STEVE BARNETT
PLAYERS from the Heath FC had plenty of reason to celebrate at the weekend as they netted a hat-trick of wins in the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League.
The Heath Foxes got the ball rolling at Market Road with a 2-1 victory over Islington Admiral in the Under-10s Division on Friday.
After a goalless first-half Corie Alexander opened the scoring with a spectacular individual goal as he beat two players before firing home from outside the area.
Admiral equalised, but the Heath ensured maximum points when Cameron Rennie set up substitute Cameron Hannah for the winner.
The club’s Under-12s made sure the cheers continued as they beat St John’s Wood United 2-0 thanks to goals from Dante Small and their player-of-the-match Harri Duggal.
The Heath’s Under-9s wrapped up a winning weekend by beating Futebol de Salao 1-0 courtesy of a clinical finish from Jay Ilori.
Under-10s Division
DREW Durnan scored with a sublime free-kick in the final seconds of the match to earn Angel Islington a 1-0 win over Primrose Hill on Friday.
The victory continues an impressive run of form for Angel, who beat defending champions Lyndhurst 1-0 in their previous outing thanks to well-placed header from Julian Sarmiento.
Under-12s Division
A SUPERB strike from Deon Marshall settled matters as Isledon Wolves took all three points from a closely-fought contest against Futebol De Salao on Monday.
Wolves goalkeeper Freddy Akguc played his part in helping to secure the win as he showed great reflexes to save a deflected shot on goal and earn a vital clean sheet.
Wolves went close to adding to their 1-0 lead with Teon Levy-Wright hitting the upright and Samuel Kyei-Baafour just failing to connect with a bicycle-kick.
Under-12s B Division
CHAPEL Youth will be looking to go goal crazy again on Friday when they take on St John’s Wood United at Market Road.
Goal-getter Max Tyson was Chapel’s main man in their previous outing as he scored four goals against Crown and Manor. Scott Clarke was also on target as Chapel recorded a resounding 7-1 victory to cap a magnificent team display.
Under-14s Division
PERSISTENCE paid off for Isledon Wolves on Monday as they struck late to seal a well-deserved win over rivals Haringey Cosmos.
With missed chances mounting for Wolves, including a penalty, it looked like Cosmos were going to be rewarded for their stout defending with a point.
But with the clock ticking down Mani Maharjan made a late breakthrough when he poked home Henry White’s measured cross.
