A LATE strike from Teon Levy-Wright saw Isledon Wolves collect three deserved points on Friday with a 1-0 win over Angel Islington.

Defenders Kyroe Omar-Brandy and Thierry Okwara were both in fine form for Wolves, to make sure Levy-Wright’s goal proved the all important winner.

Under-13s Division

ISLEDON Wolves survived a scare to secure their biggest win of the season on Friday.

Wolves raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to strikes from Harvey Lea-Bramble, Nicky Marshall and Ethan Irvine – but rivals Sapo Verde 2012 quickly pulled two goals back to set-up what looked like being a shock turnaround.

Wolves skipper Keiron Loughney calmed the nerves, however, as he collected the ball in his own half and waltzed passed a string of Sapo players before finding the back of the net with the goal of the game.

In a thrilling finish Lea-Bramble and Irvine both scored again, before Bradley Carrete wrapped up a scintillating 7-2 win.

Under-14s  Division

IT proved an emotional game for Henry White as Isledon Wolves battled out a 1-1 draw against early league leaders Somers Town on Monday.

Town took the lead from the penalty spot after the ball spun-up off the slippery surface and hit White’s hand.

The determined youngster didn’t let his head drop, however, and made amends when he added the finishing touches to a neat five-man move to score the equaliser.

CAMDEN & ISLINGTON YEAR 7 DISTRICT LEAGUE

THE Year 7 District football team battled back from the brink of defeat to save their unbeaten start to the season in a thrilling match against Ealing.

The Under-12s side were left reeling when Ealing scored three times in the opening 12 minutes. Joel Chileshe gave his team-mates a glimmer of hope of salvaging something from the game when he pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time to make it 3-1 at the break.

Within minutes of the restart the comeback was well and truly on when Kristian Mickeli made it 3-2 after latching onto Hayden Miller’s flick.

Mickeli then turned provider as he crossed for Jordan Aloye to score a dramatic equaliser. With the Camden and Islington boys in the ascendancy a remarkable turnaround was completed when the ever-dangerous Mickeli scored a stunning free-kick to open up a jaw-dropping 4-3 lead.

To their credit, Ealing overcame the shock to score a late equaliser and earn a deserved share of the spoils after playing their part in the 4-4 thriller.

Camden and Islington coach Andy Taylor said: “We had to mix up our play a bit and go more direct at times – not quite the beautiful game but it enabled us to get a foothold back in the match.

“We discovered another side to this team, they didn’t let their heads go down, showed real mental strength, great team spirit, a desire to battle for every ball and in the end were unlucky not to win it.”
