THE girls from Haverstock School put in one of the most lethal goal-getting displays ever seen at Market Road in Islington when they smashed seven past south London’s Elmgreen in the fourth round of the London Schools’ Cup.
The Under-14s side from the secondary in Chalk Farm set-up a quarter-final showdown against Stoke Newington after easing to a 7-2 victory at the artificial pitches. Gabriela Madeira-Biscotto, who scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over UCL in the previous round, went one better this time out as she scored four in the one-sided encounter. But that wasn’t enough to earn the player-of-the-match award, which went to winger Rachel Butler.
Tinnea Perez-Duah chipped in with two goals, while Dunia Idrissi was also on target.
Manager and PE teacher Jamie Histed said: “The girls were outstanding, and dominated the game from start to finish. They're really looking forward to what will be a testing quarter-final against Stoke Newington.”
