TRIUMPHANT footballers from Haverstock can proudly boast to be the best in the borough after winning the double in the Camden Schools Shield.

Star player J’neil Bennett scored a sublime hat-trick as the Year 7 side (above) from the secondary school in Haverstock Hill beat fellow finalists UCL Academy from Swiss Cottage 3-0 at Market Road

Not to be outdone Haverstock’s Year 8 side were also celebrating after goals from man-of-the-match Yaqoob Dawlatzai and Dean Shaughnessy saw them beat UCL 2-1 in a hard-fought final.

Overall it was a stunning start to the coveted shield, a tournament organised by the Camden School Sports Federation in which secondaries amass points for taking part in a variety of events throughout the school year.
