Troubles with the CCTV
• I NOTED with some interest Charlie Sears’s letter, (Check the CCTV is working on your estate, September 16).
Charlie explains that despite parking his car in a bona-fide parking bay under bright lights and close to security railings thieves still managed to steal his car’s catalytic converter.
The area where the car was parked was suppose to be covered by Camden Council’s CCTV, yet when police asked Camden for footage it was discovered that the CCTV was non-operational and had been for over a year.
So, that being the case, perhaps Mr Sears should contact the council to enquire if they had still been collecting residents’ CCTV service charges for the period the CCTV was non-operational, because residents on the Three Fields estate (Foxfield, Fairfield & Briarfield) in Arlington Road would have paid between £50 and £55 a year for a service they appear not to have been receiving.
