As an old journo, I made the inexcusable assumption that taxi firms and drivers would be local.

When mine arrived I was gobsmacked – hearing that driver and cab are based in Leighton Buzzard. One can only guess the charge for two round trips.

I’d hate my beloved NHS to be taken for a ride keeping us alive.
