THE Highgate Harriers’ mighty medal haul continued on Saturday when the club’s women’s team bagged a bronze at the National Cross-Country Championships, which were held in Nottingham.
A muddy 8km course, complete with testing hills and even a few ditches, couldn’t stop Highgate’s women from adding to the victory in the Metropolitan Cross-Country League and the silver medal in the Southern Cross-Country Championships that they have already captured this year.
This time around it was Molly Renfer who led the way as she finished 23rd with a time of 30 minutes, 57 seconds, closely followed by Hannah Viner, who crossed the finish line in 31:19 to take 28th place.
Emma Dixon (32:10) and Ashley Scott-Wilson (32:22) were just 12 seconds apart as they finished in 46th and 57th place respectively.
Emma Burgess also continued her brilliant form over the mud this season finishing in 34:37 to claim 134th place out of a field of 788 finishers.
