A FIERCE bowling partnership between Zak Khan and Mark Divin helped Hampstead end a frustrating season on a high on Saturday in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League.

Khan collected five wickets at the expense of just 34 runs, while Divin took 4-52 as visitors Teddington were bowled out for 180 within 36 overs at Lymington Road in West Hampstead.

Skipper Divin then showed off his skills with the bat as he notched up 83 not out, including 10 fours, to guide Hampstead to a winning score of 183-4 and seal a convincing six-wicket victory.

IN Division Two, an under-strength North Middlesex side were narrowly beaten by just one wicket away at Ickenham.

Charlie Yorke-Starkey scored 76 not out and Nick Brand hit 70 as North Midd posted a competitive score of
267-7 off 53 overs.

The game went down to the very final ball with Ickenham just reaching the winning score of 271-9 off their 47 overs.

It has proved to be an agonising season for the North Midd player as they just missed out on promotion after finishing third.
