CONSERVATIVE candidate Claire-Louise Leyland said Brexit negotiations would be “central to everything” after the general election, and that Theresa May should be trusted to get the best deal as the United Kingdom leaves the European Union.

She was speaking as candidates in the Hampstead and Kilburn constituency were given 60 seconds to provide voters with a final pitch at the end of the South Kilburn hustings on Wednesday night.

“We need to make sure, to keep us safe, to fund our public services, our schools, our hospitals, our local council services, we need to make sure that we get a good deal from Brexit and that will help us lock in the economic progress that we’ve made and make sure we are moving forward, “, she said. “I know Theresa May can lead us through this difficult time. I know she can take, seize the opportunities that will arise from these changes.”
