ARSENAL Ladies booked a place in their third successive Champions League semi-final yesterday (Wednesday) when they saw off ASD Torres at the Vanni Sanna Stadium.
Shelley Kerr’s side ran out 1-0 winners in Sardinia thanks to a goal from Niamh Fahey.
The defender poked the ball home from close range after Ellen White had headed down a Rachel Yankey corner four minutes into the second-leg quarter-final tie.
The result handed the Gunners a 4-1 aggregate victory over their Italian opponents after goals from Kelly Smith, Jordan Nobbs and Kim Little sealed a 3-1 lead in the first-leg at Meadow Park last week.
Arsenal boss Kerr, who is waiting to find out if her team will play either Russian side Rossiyanka or German outfit Wolfsburg in the semi-final in April, said afterwards, “We are delighted to have won.”
