AARON Ramsey is calling on his team-mates to be more ruthless in front of goal following Sunday’s frustrating 1-1 draw at Leicester.
The Gunners have had something of a stuttering start to the season, picking up five points from their opening three games. At the King Power Stadium on Sunday Alexis Sanchez gave Arsene Wenger’s side the perfect start when he scored from close range in the 20th minute, but Leonardo Ulloa pegged them back within minutes with a well-placed header.
Despite going on to create 26 chances Arsenal failed to get their noses back in front and they were forced to settle for a point.
“We just weren’t clinical enough and failed to convert our chances into goals,” said Ramsey.
“Leicester played well and defended very well. We still had a lot of the ball, however, and had some opportunities to score – but we didn’t take them.
“The goal that we conceded could have also been avoided. We switched off from a throw-in, they switched sides and scored. So the overall feeling is disappointment.
“It’s difficult coming to Leicester or any other teams who have just been promoted. They wanted to prove a point and they want to prove that they’re good enough to be in the Premier League. They closed us down really well and defended as a unit.
“Having said that, we still created chances and we still got in little pockets of space where we could have hurt them a bit more.”
