ARSENAL fans can look forward to their team scoring a glut of goals in Sunday’s north London derby if Aaron Ramsey gets his way.

The Gunners are in confident mood as they welcome rivals Tottenham to the Emirates following a 5-0 aggregate win over Fenerbahce in their Champions League qualifier and a 3-1 victory away at Fulham.

Ramsey (pictured) has fond memories of the team’s last two home games against Spurs, especially as both finished in 5-2 victories for the hosts. “It’s going to be a great game,” he said. “Both teams are looking forward to it. We’re at home and we’ve been successful over the last few seasons. We’ve had three good results now where we’ve been really confident and hopefully we can take that into the Spurs game. The 5-2s were fantastic games. We didn’t start off too well but the way we came back and the way that we handled the games and won was quite special. Hopefully we can do the same again.”

Fans must feel like they’re watching a new player as Ramsey continues to rebuild his career after breaking his leg away at Stoke three years ago.

The Welsh wonder, who scored in each half as Arsenal beat Fenerbahce 2-0 on Tuesday, puts his rapidly improving form down to the fact that he’s finally regaining his confidence. “I’ve always been getting into the positions, even last season, but maybe I’ve not been so composed in the shot to score the goal.

“I think with the injury I had, it takes a long time to overcome that mentally. I’m over that now and I feel like I’m confident again. Things are happening naturally on the pitch so I’m feeling good out there at the moment.

“Confidence is such a big thing in this game. Towards the back end of last season and into the new season I’ve felt so much more confident out there and I think that’s the biggest change really.”
