BE ready to sing your hearts out at Massaoke’s Rockstar Weekend at the Electric Ballroom on Friday. Expect huge hairbrush anthems, a live band of spandex-clad rockstars, extraordinary outfits and giant video lyrics. Also at the Ballroom, King King bring the blues rock with support from The Damn Truth on Feb 24.

Find your rhythm at Drums of The World’s Global Adventures in Rhythm at Green Note. Open to beginners and those with experience (adults and supervised minors), bring your own drum or use one of theirs as drum teaching collective Elephant drums give an insight into world beats in this Saturday evening workshop (Feb 12).

• Celebrate 40 years of The Korgis with their anniversary set Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime at 100 Club on Feb 11. Expect music from the band’s back catalogue as well as from their former outfit Stackridge.

Former Oysterband member Ray Cooper plays a matinee show at Green Note on Feb 13.

• Touring tirelessly since 1967, Fairport Convention bring their winter tour to Union Chapel on Feb 18. Support from Luke Jackson.

Rapper and activist Lowkey’s rescheduled show to mark 10 years since his album Soundtrack to the Struggle takes place at Jazz Café on Feb 11. Also coming up at Jazz Café: Soul pioneers The Real Thing’s Album launch (Feb 12); the UK launch of Palestinian hip-hop / electronica group 47Soul’s debut album Semitics and much more.

• Trade – the UK’s first legal club all-nighter (opening after hours at 3am) celebrates 30 years of presiding over nocturnal clubland at Egg LDN on Feb 12. Among the 25 guest DJs announced so far are Andy Farley, BK, Boris, Daz Saund & Trevor Rockcliffe, Fat Tony, Fidelity Kastrow, Frankel & Harper, Hilit Kolet, Jeffrey Hinton and Knuckleheadz.

Spend Valentine’s day with the cool kids as Liverpool band Stone, play Camden Assembly on Feb 14.

• Guest DJ Ali Bongo Goby joins Crawdaddy! Regulars Gary, Lucienne and Danny spinning the finest northern soul, mod, ska, Tow Tone – you get the vibe – all on vinyl at The Fiddlers Elbow on Feb 18.

Harmonica supremo Errol Linton – thrice crowned UK Blues Harmonica Player of the Year – plays Green Note on Feb 18.

• The Chords UK launch third album Big City Dreams at 100 Club on Feb 19 with support from midlands-based Mod group The Deep Six.

It’s no surprise that Damon Albarn’s Barbican show Damon Albarn: The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows (rescheduled from May 2020!) was so popular that a second date was announced. Taking place on Feb 21-22, Albarn will premiere his project, inspired by Icelandic landscapes of Iceland, with an ensemble and specially commissioned visuals.
